We
depart at around 08h00 and drive along the West Coast to Hout
Bay, where we enjoy a short boat trip to see the seal colony
of Dyer Island.
We
drive through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and arrive
at Cape Point in time for a light refreshment.
Cape
Point is where the Benguela Atlantic and the Augulhas currents
from the Mozambique Channel surge upon the Point, or better
known as the " meeting of the two oceans."
We
take the " Funicular " up to the top and grab a
spectacular view out across the seas. We depart en route for a
short sightseeing walk, and then we make our way to the
Boulders to view the penguins, before reaching the historical
naval base of Simonstown.
Lunch
is in Kalk Bay.
We
then depart along the coastline, passing by, Muizenberg en
route for Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
After
a short stop, we head back to Cape Town.
